SEO Freelance cuantocuestaestudiar.com
This website was dedicated to providing information about the cost of studying various degrees and programs around the world, specifically targeting Spanish-speaking communities. Its goal was to help students make informed financial decisions when exploring international education options.
Their problem
Despite offering valuable information, the website struggled to attract consistent traffic due to several structural and strategic issues. The site architecture was poorly organized, making it difficult for both users and search engines to navigate the content effectively. Key topics were scattered, internal linking was inconsistent, and there was no clear content hierarchy, which limited visibility in search results.
Additionally, the content lacked keyword optimization and localization for specific regions, making it hard to reach the right audiences. These combined problems resulted in low organic reach and minimal user engagement, despite the high demand for the type of information the site offered.
The strategy
To address the site’s structural issues, I began by reorganizing the website architecture using a silo-based approach. I restructured the content first by country, and then by field of study, creating a logical and intuitive navigation system for users and search engines alike. This new structure not only improved usability but also allowed us to build topical authority for each country and study type.
Next, I implemented a strategic internal linking system to create a well-thought-out content flow. For example, a user reading about «Medicine in Spain» would find links to other medical programs in different countries, as well as related fields of study within Spain. This cross-linking improved user experience, session duration, and crawlability all of which contributed to better SEO performance.
Additionally, I conducted a thorough keyword analysis and content gap audit, identifying missing topics and underperforming keywords. This led to the creation of new, targeted pages that focused on studies previously lacking dedicated content. I also optimized existing pages by incorporating zero-click keywords queries with informational intent that often lacked strong competition to improve both readability and search visibility across long-tail topics.
The results
Although my involvement in the project was for a relatively short period, it delivered clear and measurable results. A total of 15 pages reached the #1 position for their primary keywords, while 10 additional keywords entered the top 3, and another 10 secured spots in the top 10. These improvements significantly boosted both organic traffic and impressions, reflecting the effectiveness of the strategic restructuring and SEO enhancements implemented during my time on the project.
